You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Shirt!

If you’re just starting out with working Kettlebells, you’re soon going to be in for two big surprises. First, you’re going to lose a lot of fat fast on your torso; and second, you’re going to get a stronger, more muscular back! As you move your Swing, your Latissimus Dorsi muscles will begin to bud, and then pop! This all happens rather quickly after you first pick up a bell, and then stick to a weekly routine.

Look out!

You’re gonna have to buy a bigger shirt!

You may not think a leaner, heavier, back is something you want to carry around, but you do — you do because that thicker, stronger back, no matter your gender, means you are getting much more powerful, and you can lift, and move, heavier things. Bigger is not bad. Weaker is always bad.

If you are used to doing a Yoga Plank, the Kettlebell Swing is a standing variation of a Plank. As you Swing the bell into its final, gravity-defying, horizontal position, your butt clenches, your knees are locked, your hips are engaged, your arms are tight against your body, and your Lats are popping: That’s a standing Plank position with you holding out a Kettlebell in midair instead of pressing your hands into the floor! You are, for a moment, a God of your own declination!

Remember, with Kettlebells, and with other heavy things, you don’t lift with your legs, you lift weighty things with your hips; and strong hips mean you need a similar, and straight, back to make big gains in stamina. As your legs become thinner, but more robust, and responsive, your back, in turn, becomes thicker and bigger. You become a living pendulum that can move mountains in a single Swing!

Having beefier Lats means you walk more upright. You lead with your chest, and not with your stomach. You are a new, grounded, force to be unmoved by moving forward.

Your ultimate Kettlebell reward is cashed in below your armpits!
