Your Poop and You!

Timing is everything. We’re not supposed to talk about our poop in public, but here we are, my friend! Take a seat. Let’s share a sit together. If you are an evangelical workout monster, or if you only move your body a few times a week, getting your poop good is just as important as building your muscles right.

Poop matters, and yes, it still stinks!

There’s nothing worse than starting a Kettlebell routine, and then feeling that recognizable call of nature when you have to park the bell, and then go park yourself on the porcelain throne! Then you have to clean up, and return to your workout, and then worry about building up a bit of swamp ass in the gym, or stinking up your home gym with the wisps of what once was, and what forever, is...

There are ways to prepare all of your body for working out. Getting a good, and reliable rise, and shine, schedule helps. Caffeine — your morning coffee or tea — can help you evacuate before your set. If you like to workout in the morning like me, a set routine can be a great benefit. Your body becomes to expect what it knows, including dumping poop, and then you can deliver what it wants in a moment.

If you’re sitting for longer than 30 seconds on the toilet without pooping completely, and then leaving, you may have a problem. I know friends, and family, who take 30 minutes to do a poop, and that is just too long, and too unhealthy; although they may be using that “poop time” as a method for avoiding the family in favor of some private time behind bars — I mean — behind the bathroom door.

However, if you are straining, and struggling, to easily release a stool, don’t press the issue too hard. You can do some long term damage down there. You need to soften what is hard, and release what is kept. Patience and planning are key.

One surefire way I have discovered to help along the morning poop is to add some MCT oil to my daily cup of coffee. MCT oil is great for your brain and body. Medium Chain Triglycerides have a plethora of benefits, but I find MCT oil lubricates everything for me, including all the tubes that lead to the poop chute. I feel better, stronger, more alive with my daily MCT oil dose; and while it may not help everyone in the bathroom, MCT oil may have other benefits you might like to explore. I prefer my MCT oil from coconuts.

Using a splash of MCT Oil before my morning Kettlebell workout helps me get completely prepared to lift — without the extra worry of having to stop, and use the bathroom in the middle of a routine — and we know, if you’ve ever lifted any sort of iron in your life, that having your body in motion under weight is a great way to move everything in your core, your guts, meaning, your poop!

If you get constipated, moving heavy iron can help get things moving in the right downward direction, and stretching can also help de-gas you as well; but using MCT oil as a lubricant, even if it is only a mindful prophylactic, is another way to get control of your poop, so your stool doesn’t control you!

Your poo runs your schedule.

Your poo runs your schedule.
